The Opportunity

As the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will have an opportunity to create a huge impact on the quality of Apervita’s growing suite of products. We will empower you to use your knowledge of testing and testability to influence better software design, promote proper engineering practice, bug prevention strategies, testability, accessibility, privacy and other advanced quality concepts across our PaaS and SaaS suite.

You will be responsible for helping us to ensure our products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance. We will need your help to create and monitor quality control plans in order to identify improvement opportunities and work to ensure that project milestones and deadlines are met. You will be tasked with being a strong cross-functional team collaborator who can use their excellent analytical skills and strong customer orientation to provide a better standard of quality.

Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Manually test cloud-based solutions as a part of the QSuite product line, sometimes acting as QA project lead on product or quality initiatives
  • Assist in test planning with the goal of delivering high-quality software solutions on schedule
  • Develop and execute detailed test cases
  • Identify and retest defects, perform regression, API and document test results
  • Create and maintain test suites and environments, and research/implement QA tools
  • Participate in defining quality assurance policies and process improvements; collaborate with design and business analyst team to identify potential gaps in functionality
  • Investigate and document the causes of defects that occur during the testing phase
  • Communicate with key stakeholders, report on technical issues and questions, make recommendations to product owners
  • Assist in training and mentoring team members and resolution of client issues
  • Support customer user acceptance testing, including troubleshooting with customer users, verification of issues identified during UAT and communication of issue resolution

  • At least five years of quality assurance experience with cloud or web-based applications; ideally with some experience as a senior QA or QA lead
  • Proven experience and full command of QA procedures and methods, and agile/SDLC
  • An understanding of automated testing, including how to write scripts to automate testing and create tools so developers can test their own code
  • Experience with various types of API testing, as well as Jira, Postman, MS SQL Server, Postgres and related technologies are helpful
  • Healthcare analytic methodologies and/or data testing are a huge plus
